Jerry S. Stokes has been a Certified Petroleum Geologist with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists for over 35 years, a member of The Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists and the Fort Worth Wildcatters.
He has been an independent prospect-generating geologist with projects extending across Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas for 25 years. Starting in January, 1987, Jerry began to devote 100% effort to geological prospect development for Mid-Continent Geological, Inc. as an independent geologist.
Before beginning Mid-Continental Geological, Inc. in 1981, Jerry worked as an Exploration Manager for Rust Oil Corporation in Fort Worth, Texas and as a Geologist for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jerry has published research through AAPG including the “Exploration for Canyon Reefs Utilizing Subsurface Geology and 3-D Seismic, Jones and Taylor Counties, Texas” with the Abilene Geological Society.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology/Geophysics from Texas Tech University in 1978. During this time, he was a Member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
He met his wife, Martha Stokes at Texas Tech University. They were married shortly after graduation and now have 2 married children and one grandchild.
